Mt. Izumo Scenic Lookout Point

Once upon a time, Princess Shitateru, the daughter of Okuninushi (Lord of Izumo Province), arrived at this place by sea from Izumo Province and resided in Shitori Shrine. Princess thought of her home province, and came to this lookout point to see Izumo, which is far away from this place. People knew how she was feeling, which led the lookout point to be called Izumo-yama (Mt. Izumo).
